PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's tennis team cruised to a Senior Night victory Friday, as it blew past the University of Mount Saint Vincent, 7-0.
With the win, the Panthers finished the regular season 7-7 overall and 3-5 in the Skyline Conference.
They will now move on to the first round of the Skyline playoffs next week. For the Dolphins, they dropped to 1-9 overall and 0-8 in the league.
Before the match, head coach
Jordan Snider and the squad celebrated the team's two seniors -
Eli Palagatshev (Yonkers, NY) and
Pedro Llonch-Vidalle (New York, NY) with a ceremony.Â
The two seniors, who were joined by family and friends, received honors and gifts for the team to celebrate their hard work during their college careers.
From there, the Panthers shifted to the important task at hand - earning a must-win victory. Luckily in the end, they got it with ease, as they took every matchup in the effort.
Individually, the two seniors were spectacular, as Palagatshev took his No.1 singles match by the scores of 6-0, 6-0. Llonch-Vidalle was just as good, winning 6-0, 6-1 at the No.5 spot.
Up next for the team is the Skyline playoffs, which are set to begin on April 27th.
