Panthers Defeated by Yeshiva in Skyline Playoffs

PURCHASE, N.Y. -  The Purchase College men's tennis team had its season come to a close Monday afternoon, after falling to Yeshiva University in the First Round of the Skyline Conference Playoffs.

The final score on the day was 4-0, as the Panthers finished the season 7-8 overall. For the Macs, they move onto the Skyline Semifinals.

The No.5-seeded Blue and Orange were defeated in the first two doubles matchup, before they dropped the first three singles contests as well.

As a result, the No.4-seeded Macs prevailed before the rest of the matchups could finish. Eli Palagatshev (SR/Yonkers, NY) was well on his way to a win at the No.1 spot, 6-4 and 4-3.

No.2 singles Isaac Spottek (SO/Conklin, NY) also won the first game, 6-4, before his match concluded at a tie score, 2-2.

The contest was the final one in the careers of Palagatshev and Pedro Llonch-Vidalle (SR/New York, NY), as the duo is set to graduate next month.

The men's tennis team will return to the court in March 2027.
