BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The SUNY Purchase women's tennis team opened the 2026 season with a convincing Tuesday afternoon, besting Brooklyn College in a 6-1 win.
With the result, the Panthers moved to 1-0, while the Bulldogs dropped to 0-2.
The match opened with a doubles victory, as the No.2 duo of
Bianka Grzesik (FY) and
Emma Van Dorpe (FY/Nyack, NY) and No.3 pair of
Sadie Killebrew (SR/Brooklyn, NY) and
Lilia QI (JR/Buffalo, NY) earned wins.
The Blue and Orange then earned five singles wins to take the match.
Some of the top results included, No.1
Amelia Perlmutter (SR/Rutherford, NJ) winning 6-1, 6-1, while Qi prevailed at No.6 by the score of 6-1, 6-0.
Up next for the Panthers is a road contest at Western Connecticut State University on September 10th at 3:30 p.m.
