NEW YORK, N.Y. - Purchase College sophomore Eli Palagatshev was named the Skyline Conference Men's Tennis Co-Scholar-Athlete of the Year, it was announced Monday.

The Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award is presented in each sport to the first-team All-Skyline performer who carries the highest grade point average (minimum 3.30) for the semester in which the student-athlete competes.

Palagatshev (Yonkers, NY), who shared the recognition with two other athletes, collected the prize after he finished with a stellar 4.0 GPA and was named to the All-First Team at season's end.

The nomination also marked the second year in a row that he earned the award, as Palagatshev received the accolade back in 2023 during a breakout freshman season.

As for his 2024 campaign, the No.1 singles player went 4-4 in solo action, and was even better in doubles, teaming for a 6-3 overall record at the No. 1 spot.

Palagatshev and the rest of the Panthers will return to the court in 2025, when the season begins in March.
