Every Monday, the Sports Information Department at Purchase will select a staff member, new recruit or student assistant to highlight in our #MeetEmMonday feature. Today's #MeetEmMonday is Head Athletic Trainer Sherry Llauger.
 
PURCHASE, N.Y. – Sherry Llauger begins her second season as the Head Athletic Trainer at Purchase College, overseeing and managing the prevention, care, and treatment for all student-athletes within Purchase's 17 intercollegiate teams.

In addition to her ATC responsibilities, Llauger became a certified COVID-19 Contact Tracer this spring. In her new role, Llauger educates others on the principles and safety procedures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This education includes interviewing people diagnosed with the virus, identifying their close contacts who might have been exposed, and providing them guidance for self-quarantine for two weeks.

Stacked with a decorated career in sports medicine, Llauger has experience ranging from high school and NCAA Div. I level.  Prior to Purchase, she served as the Head Athletic Trainer at New Rochelle High School for three years. Her resume also boasts multiple seasons at West Point Military Academy, other ATC positions as an independent contractor as well as a year at Bardonia Physical Therapy. Additionally, Llauger worked as a CPR Instructor for the American Heart Association, a First Responder, an American Red Cross Relief Worker and an Emergency Medical Technician.

Llauger graduated from Dominican College with a degree in Athletic Training. She currently resides in Rockland County with her son Matthew.
