PURCHASE, N.Y. – Justin Lovell came to Purchase in March of 2019.

As Assistant Sports Information Director, Lovell covers the college's 17 NCAA Division III programs, by writing press releases and featured stories, serving as the official statistician for multiple sports, managing the school's athletic website, running the social media pages for the athletics department, operating as game day admin for multiple sports, overseeing 30+ student-workers and interns and making sure statistical and video equipment is working during games and events.

Prior to Purchase, Lovell served in the same role at Bard College for three years. While at Bard, he covered the college's 19 varsity programs, by writing game stories and featured articles, served as the official statistician for multiple sports and helped maintain the school's athletic website.

Additionally, Lovell worked for the minor league baseball team, the Hudson Valley Renegades, in game day operations and wrote for the fantasy sports site, Rotoballer. He was also a crew member, then shift leader and manager at Dunkin' for nearly 13 years, despite disliking coffee.

Lovell earned his bachelor's degree in Mass Communications from SUNY Oneonta in 2013. As a student, he spearheaded the return of the sports section of the school newspaper, The State Times. Starting out as a staff writer, before being promoted to Sports Editor, Lovell assigned and edited stories, laid out pages and contributed to the social media imprint of the publication. He also managed the online version of the sports section.
